Artist Statement

I am a nonbinary and mixed photographer, aerosol painter, and illustrator who mixes their mediums to create dark images of their life and surroundings. The supernatural, science and culture influence my (rather dark) aesthetic and body of work. My aesthetic is influenced by my philosophy of introspection and my perception of my surroundings, using art as a vessel to communicate the atrocities of our time. I was lucky enough to secure an internship with the Coalition of Homeless Services Providers in the Summer of 2020, which was able to give me insight of how the homeless were being treated in Monterey County. I was there to see the triumphs, successes and struggles seen by different levels of the pyramid of who was being served. I continuously researched and kept an open mind of who was really being served, giving me the inspiration for my art practice. I want to enact a change in Monterey County.
